Abstract :
Julian Dibbell reported a "rape in cyberspace" in 1993. In this paper we use the case to explore the moral nature of actions in virtual environments. We emphasize the themes of harm and responsibility and conclude with some tentative lessons learned, and extend the analysis to virtual sex.
