Abstract
The intelligent transportation system (ITS) utilizes technological advances in computers, electronics, and communications in order to improve the effectiveness of the entire surface transportation system. The communication system which connects all of the ITS components has to be adequate in addressing the user requirements. The definition and analysis of the ITS communication system is essential to demonstrate the ability of an ITS architecture in providing all of the intended user services. In this paper, we define the subsystems of an ITS physical architecture and perform data loading analysis on the RF communication link between the vehicles and the infrastructure
