Abstract :
By adopting the idea of insurance business in our real life, an insurance-based cloud computing architecture is proposed in this paper to rebuild a monetary credit system for cloud computing. In this architecture, insurer agents are introduced to offer paid guarantee for services in cloud computing, and to compensate Internet users when the services invoked fail. Then, regarding to the bankrupt risks of the insurer agents, a stochastic process based risk model is built to analyze the necessary conditions to assure their profit. In addition, an experiment is conducted to verify the benefits and effects of this insurance based approach. The simulation results show that the aggregated asset- loss of each Internet user changes more gradually, the ability of failure-tolerance of each user is strengthened, the total number of service invocations increases, accordingly the overall benefits of cloud computing can also be enlarged.
