Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. The polarization of bottom-emitting vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) is controlled with an interlaced metal grating top electrode. The laser´s output is always polarized along the grating lines for orientations parallel or at 45/spl deg/ to the crystal axes.
