  • Abstract
    This paper proposes a battery power module (BPM) which is composed of two batteries with a tri-port dc-to-dc converter. Being powered from two battery sets, the capacity of the BPM can be doubled. The power conversion circuit consists of only an active power switch, leading to less conversion loss. By adjusting the duty-ratio of the active power switch, the voltage regulation at the output as well as the charge equalization between two batteries can be made. Theoretical analyses of the dc-to-dc converter are verified by experimental results conducted in a laboratory circuit.
