Abstract :
Interface logic provides the flexibility, isolation of bus problems, ease of board layout, and zero development time. Interface logic provides the final “glue” to tie real systems together. For these reasons, high performance glue logic remains a key component in system designs. Because microprocessors continue to get faster, logic has had to improve performance in order to keep pace. This has led to new developments. Making high performance logic is demanding. It is one of the best examples of mixed signal design: analog design for digital performance. The need for speed has driven the use of new technologies, new packages, new logic specifications. These improvements and innovations, and how they translate to system design are the basis of the new high performance logic
