Abstract :
The paper discusses a common framework for two apparently unrelated problems: one belonging to electric power quality, the other pertaining to financial science (portfolio theory). The analogy between such areas enlightens the approach to both of them, allowing the translation of useful concepts and definitions from one field to the other. The central point is the analogy between electrical phases and assets on the market.
