Abstract :
Summary form only given. Recently, much attention has been paid to integrate optical pick-up components to realize a thin and small-sized pick-up for optical disk systems. In a conventional pick-up for a magneto-optical disk system, 11 optical components are needed to detect magneto-optical recording signals. As a result, a pick-up becomes inevitably thick and large. In this work, we demonstrate a very small-sized (3.5/spl times/8.8/spl times/6.6 mm) LDH unit, which integrates 11 optical components including a 50 mW high power AlGaInP red laser diode for high-density magneto-optical disk systems.
