Abstract
This paper presents a robust speed sensorless vector control system of medium voltage induction motor. Rotor speed estimation based on Luenberger observer is analyzed as well as the influence of the motor parameter variation to the estimation accuracy. The characteristics of the motor parameter influence are generalized. According to the different influence of parameter variation at different operating speed, an optimizing strategy for parameter compensation is proposed to balance the accuracy of rotor speed estimation in the whole motor operating speed range. Speed sensorless vector control scheme based on Luenberger observer with parameter identification is applied to a medium voltage induction motor drive, and the system is simulated to verify the optimizing strategy for speed estimation with parameter compensation.
