Abstract :
The optimal corrective damping control time has a distinct influence on system recovery trajectories. This paper applies the transient energy function (TEF) method for computing the optimal control time of generation decreasing and load shedding for single machine infinite bus and multi-machine system. In the paper, the proposed calculation method is tested in single-machine infinite-bus system and a real power system in China. Its effectiveness to compute the optimal corrective damping control time is demonstrated and validated by the results of numerical simulation.
