Abstract
In this paper, an optimal design method of three-phase rectifier with near-sinusoidal input currents (RNSIC) is proposed. By using the proposed method, high power factor could be achieved as well as low input current harmonics, making the converter more practical. Moreover, based on the operation principle analysis of RNSIC, characteristic of the rectifier is discussed. Experimental results form three prototypes with different specifications are shown to confirm the validity of the analysis and the feasibility of the proposed optimal design method.
