Abstract
This paper presents experimental results on the pneumatic particle manipulator with vibrator matrix for the two dimensional manipulation of the static and dynamic particle in the water. The proposed particle manipulator consists of individually controllable sixteen vibrators and the liquid chamber connecting with inlet and outlet port. The particle manipulator is fabricated by using PDMS molding process and the multi-layer PDMS bonding method. The proposed working principle is based on periodic flow variation generated by the volume stroke of selected pneumatic vibrators. The feasibility of the particle manipulator with vibrator matrix was confirmed through the static and dynamic particle capturing test in the micro chamber.
