Abstract :
A comb-shaped slot RFID tag antenna has been studied in this paper. The antenna has been investigated numerically and validated experimentally. The parametric studies have been conducted to investigate the effect of the geometrical parameters on the input impedance of the antenna. It has been found the length and width of the comb teeth shows significant effect on the input impedance of the antenna. The antenna prototype achieves good impedance and radiation characteristics over the UHF band of 902 MHz to 928 MHz. The maximum reading range of the tag prototype using the proposed antenna reaches 6m.
