Abstract :
A theoretical analysis of the waveguide broad-wall coupling of RF gun structures is presented. The analysis of this three dimensional problem yields an equivalent circuit whose elements are either directly calculated from the frequency and geometry of the gun, or are inferred from the two dimensional numerical solver URMEL. Good agreement between experiment and theory is seen in cold tests of our 17 GHz 1½-cell RF gun
