Abstract
This paper describes ongoing research for the initial phase of the dynamic orchestration of the sensor Web (DOSW) framework. This research examines prototype solutions to providing situational awareness on the global grid and an ability to orchestrate via workflow instances of a dynamic sensor Web. The DOSW framework was configured to model a sample sensor network/simulation environment for the US Air Force. A DOSW test bed was created to assess the prototype and determine operator usability. The test bed was equipped with network and software monitoring and logging capabilities, along with a rich collaborative/alert-based interface. The DOSW interface allows for customized XML-based plug-ins to be developed in order to meet future customer needs.
