Abstract :
A commercially based 1/8 GaAs monolithic dynamic prescaler operating at a single clock input of 15.6 GHz with a power dissipation of 690 mW has been successfully realized, and the phase noise performance was investigated. Values of -114 dBc/Hz and -127 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz and 1 kHz offsets for a 12.7 GHz input, which are considered to be low enough for practical use, were obtained.<>
