Abstract :
The authors propose a decentralised state estimation scheme suitable for interconnected power systems. The scheme is based on a novel combination of modal analysis, singular perturbation, and unknown input state observer theory. The resulting state estimation scheme is completely decentralised in that in each area of the interconnection, local measurements only are used for the reconstruction of the local state vector, thus eliminating the need for any form of information transfer among the areas comprising the interconnection
