Abstract :
A stair-planar phased array antenna system for vehicular reception of DBS signal in Ku-band was introduced. The height of the antenna is only 6 cm and the system has two-dimensional electronic scanning capability (Fig. 1). A novel beamforming algorithm which is implemented in the system compensates for the fabrication inaccuracies of the microwave components. In this paper we evaluate several beamforming algorithms and their effectiveness in variety of road conditions and vehicle maneuver.
