  • Abstract
A power system dynamic simulator is a physical simulator for normal operation and emergency conditions and has good simulated characteristics. In the last twenty years, simulators have given significant research results in the field of power system stability, shock load, new types of microcomputer-based protection relay and microcomputer-based excitation controllers at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). The projects came from the Huazhong (central China) network, the first 500 kV high voltage transmission line and the first 500 kV HVDC line in China. Simulators provide the best test and research tools for postgraduate students, and as experimental devices, they are used in comprehensive power system courses
