Abstract :
We show, through experiment, that the intensity noise suppression of spectrum-sliced incoherent light sources achieved by using gain-saturated semiconductor optical amplifiers can be negated by chromatic dispersion, polarization-mode dispersion, or polarization-dependent loss.
