Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to explore subpixel detection of backscattered polarimeric signatures from targets in a variety of experimental scenarios utilizing high-sensitivity polarimetric detection techniques. An autobalanced polarimetric detection technique was applied and the polarimetric signatures have been processed, by means of Mueller matrix algorithms, the Stokes parameters were deduced, and the degree of linear polarization (DOLP) was estimated. The experimental results of this study indicate that the DOLP signal produces significant enhancement and target discrimination over backscattered light intensity signals
