Abstract :
A planar bi-directional antenna with high directivities in the broadside directions on a thin FR4 dielectric substrate based on the transformation of the Yagi-Uda design rationale is proposed. This design can provide two main beams with high directivities, better than 6.0 dBi, in two broadside directions. The bandwidth is around 5.5% and efficiency of the antenna is 89.3%, which is better than 78.5% or -1 dBi in terms of the 3D average gain.
