Abstract :
In recent years, researchers have paid more and more attention to computer vision, pattern recognition and human-computer interaction. Recognizing barcode in real-time video is an embodiment of these techniques. This paper presents an algorithm which can locate barcode region in complex background through region-based image analysis. Being different from traditional region-based image analysis, the algorithm is carried out with integral image. Features including high density of unidirectional gradients, area and rectangle like shape of barcode region are utilized in recognition.
