Abstract :
This study considers numerical methods for the analysis of the problem of diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave incident on an irregular interface in the cases of E and H polarizations. The following two cases are considered: (1) the reflecting medium is transparent and has a periodic wavy boundary, (2) the reflecting medium has a high conductance on cylindrical surfaces that differ from a plane over a finite interval. The computational methods are developed and implemented. The reflection characteristics of the far field and the distribution of the currents induced on the interface are investigated for reflecting surfaces of different shapes
