  • Abstract
The rigorous solution of the problem is obtained in close form. The boundary-value method using the property of completeness of angular functions on the certain interval is employed. Accurate numerical results are presented in the case of E-polarized waves. The diffracted far-field is evaluated asymptotically. It is shown that the dielectric covering of the cylindrical part of structure can make a significant influence on the field of a shadow area
