Abstract
In this paper, the implementation of the MPEG-4 Simple Profile video encoder on a powerful MAP-CA DSP chip has been presented. It consumes about 40% processing power of the chip and generates a high quality video bitstream. at 30 fps. The bit rate range can cover from hundreds of Kbit/s to more than 2 Mbit/s.
