Abstract :
A Raman-shifted and frequency-doubled high-power Er/sup 3+/-fiber soliton laser for seeding an efficient high-power Yb/sup 3+/ fiber femtosecond amplifier chain is demonstrated. 100 fs pulses with an average power of 0.9 W and a pulse energy of 18 nJ are generated at 1.05 /spl mu/m.
