Abstract :
We demonstrate a 100 Gb/s, 9-watt optical data transmitter. The 100 Gb/s data stream is assembled via passive multiplexing of 8, 12.5 Gb/s streams and is amplified to 9 W in an erbium doped fiber amplifier. A demultiplexer is incorporated into the optical receiver and bit error rate measurements are performed.
