Abstract
To fully address the problem of developing a polyculture milkfish farming strategy which optimizes the profits while keeping the water clean, research is divided into three phases. First, the Holling Type III is applied to build the All-Natural Model to simulate the original ecosystem when water quality was agreeable for coral growth. Then after analyzing the monoculture system, a conclusion is reached that water quality degrades rapidly in recent years and the daily renewal rate of sea water in the channel is 3.78%. Finally, the Polyculture Optimization Model is built based on the All-Natural Model and a variable which can evaluate a farming system effectively, featuring the overall value composed of net income and the potential value of acceptable water quality is introduced. An optimal raising and harvesting strategy is proposed which both brings profits and supports sustainable development.
