Abstract
A new method for characterizing the wavelength/frequency response of tunable lasers is presented. The wavelength dependence on a driving signal is measured by means of a simple self-mixing interferometric setup, just made by the laser itself and a photodiode. An example of extended-cavity laser-diode characterization is presented, and the results obtained with the new measurement method are in good agreement with the ones obtained by a standard but more complex method
