Abstract :
In this paper we search for an optimal way by using channel coding to transmit compressed images through wireless multipath channels. The perceptually-based image compression coder consists of a wavelet transformation, uniform quantization and variable-length entropy encoding. The compressed data is encoded by a turbo coder. It is shown, through simulations, that wireless image transmission using turbo coded OFDM is better suited to a multipath channel.
