Abstract
Applications of recent medium-voltage (rated voltage 36 kV~7.2 kV) gas-insulated switchgear to receiving distribution facilities by consumers in Japan are introduced along with their characteristics. Also, as examples of the trend in peripheral technologies for medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, current sensors that take the place of current transformers, and various monitoring systems for gas-insulated switchgear are described
