Abstract
In this paper, we propose a TDMA MAC structure for wireless ad hoc networks based on the ADHOC MAC protocol. The proposal takes advantage of the signaling information distributed by the protocol to implement a power control scheme for point-to-point communications that provides a significant increase in the network throughput. It has been evaluated by means of simulation in a scenario that takes into account terminals mobility and the actual interference produced by all the transmitting terminals. We include solutions to guarantee the reliability of the protocol in this interference-aware scenario, showing that although the speed of the terminals imposes strict requirements on the network reconfiguration ability, the proposal maintains good performances even considering terminals mobility.
