Abstract
This article deals with the Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) and Ethernet. The two protocols are implemented in the layer 2 (OSI Model) and often are used separately. In our paper, we will demonstrate that RPR and Ethernet could be integrated together in the same Layer 2 Network. In this paper, we will explain and detail the use of RPR over Ethernet (RPRoE) with a simulation that shows a better performance using RPRoE than Ethernet by itself.
