  • Abstract
For using magnetic bearings a direct switching controller is proposed. The voltage supply for the control windings has to be changed in a time-discrete manner which makes it possible to control the radial position and speed of the shaft in a direct way. By utilizing the precalculated zeros of the radial speed in relation with the smallest radial position error the best switching instant can be determined after every sampling period. Test results show the usefulness of this method
