  • Abstract
Multihop wireless network rely on cooperation of nodes for routing and forwarding packets. However, misbehaving nodes do not always willing to cooperate and drops others´ packet in order to either degrade the performance of network or to conserve their resources like battery power, bandwidth, CPU cycle etc. To cope up with such problem several Incentive based mechanism has been developed to intensify data forwarding within the network. This mechanism provides incentives to service providers. Important issues with this mechanism are how to calculate incentive, what is its type, where to store it and how to authenticate it? This paper provides a literature survey on such mechanism which classifies existent directions based on above question by looking technical details and makes comparisons among them. This comparative analysis demonstrates their working, technical challenges, advantages and limitations and future possible directions.
