Abstract
Narrow Vdc power architecture is one of initiatives to extend battery life(EBL) in mobile computing system. Advantages of it is analyzed in detail. All design considerations for such possible concerns as charger controller selection, pre-charge issue, thermal stress, Energy Star compliant related, is illustrated and solutions to some concerns are also provided in this paper. Finally, test is conducted in a typical Notebook system to verify all theoretical analysis and proposed solutions to those concerns.
