Abstract :
Digital collections continue to secure themselves as reliable and permanent information sources, and stand to play an increasingly significant role in the way in which we expect to interact with information services [1]. In order to support the use of digital collections we need mechanisms that provide useful and easily digestible information to enable users to make judgments regarding quality and usefulness. Initiatives which identify and organize digital collections and repositories are growing and worthy endeavors, but while these projects facilitate access, they provide limited critical contextual and evaluative information. This poster describes ongoing work to establish a system of collaborative evaluation for digital collections.
