Abstract :
The stability of EMG recordings over an 8-day period has been investigated using a new wireless EMG electrode in 10 healthy volunteers. Throughout the 8-day period the electrode stayed on the skin, only the battery was replaced before each recording session. EMG-RMS values were recorded from the biceps during 50% and 100%-MVC exercises on 6 out of the 8 days. The results show a gradual decrease in RMS values with time. The RMS values at day 8 were, compared with day 1, down with 27.1% and 31.7% for 50% MVC and 100% MVC, respectively.
