Abstract
The use of integrated variable-speed drives, to achieve energy savings in cement plants is discussed. It is noted that maximum energy savings are achieved by employing variable-speed drives in the process sequences. Energy savings with fans, pumps, and long belt conveyers are described. It is concluded that fans, pumps, and long belt conveyors are highly suitable for the use of variable-speed drives. Special application packages accommodate their utilization not only in new plants, but also in most existing installations
