Abstract
Summary form only given. Oligosaccharidic structures, which are present in a variety of natural products and are implicated in a wide range of biological phenomena, are discussed. Knowledge of their detailed three-dimensional architecture is essential in explaining their various biochemical and biomedical properties. The use of computer graphics in molecular modeling as a powerful tool for understanding the conformational shape of the oligosaccharides is considered. To obtain accurate structures of oligo- and polysaccharides, theoretical calculations must be performed, and for this purpose a set of parameters for different monosaccharides has been obtained
