Abstract
A model which may be used to determine the iterated functions system parameters needed to produce a fractal in R 3 where the projection of that fractal to R 2 matches a given function is presented. Background material is presented in which the form of the model, model parameters, and fractal synthesis are given. An inverse algorithm for identification of the model parameters is presented, and comments on this algorithm are given. Applications of hidden-variable fractal interpolation to two data types, monthly relative number of sunspots and the electrocardiogram of a dog´s heart, are presented
