Abstract :
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Multi-State Fleet Response Working Group (FWG) was established at the recommendation of the All Hazards Consortium (AHC) as an independent entity guided by private sector representatives from multiple sectors and states. The purpose of this FWG is to support efforts and organizations that can help expedite the movement of private sector repair and supply line fleets and resources across multiple state borders in response to both major disasters and day-to-day disruptions. The paper describes the collaboration that enabled this capability and how we propose its nationwide use for local, regional, statewide, and national critical communications.
