Abstract :
Summary form only given. In the paper the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) phenomenon, the causes of its rise and the synchronous linear links maximum transfer rate and regeneration section length dependence upon PMD are considered. The available variants of PMD decrease by polarization transforming devices whose uses are proposed. Devices introducing losses are defined and the possibility of polarization phenomenon use for polarization channel division is considered.
