Abstract
The vast majority of fiber optic transmission information methods are based on pulse coding. The longitudinal envelope dynamics of various forms of pulses under linear and nonlinear conditions are well investigated. However, attention has not been paid to the influence of the transverse field structure on the pulse envelope dynamics. In this paper, the dynamics of the pulses in a rotationally symmetric medium with cross inhomogeneity of permeability (optical fiber) is considered. The slowly varying amplitudes method (SVA) has been used in the linear and nonlinear cases
