Abstract :
Energy deficiency is acute in Bangladesh. Electricity generated in our country cannot meet the increasing demand of the consumers. Since the supply of conventional energy is limited, Bangladesh can bank on renewable energy which can play a significant role to make the country energy efficient. The geographical position of Bangladesh is favorable for generating optimal solar energy which is an immensely potential source of the renewable energy. This paper puts forward a proposal for using an improved dual axis solar tracker with reflector instead of simple solar panel to receive maximum sunbeam. This encompasses a design of ideal solar house model using azimuth-altitude dual axis solar tracker on rooftop. Apart from the mentioned design, this paper presents a structure and application of a microcontroller based azimuth-altitude dual axis solar tracker which tracks the solar panel according to the direction of the solar radiation. A built-in ADC converter is used to drive motor circuit. To minimize the power consumption by dual axis solar tracker, we are in favor of using two stepper motor especially during the seasonal change. We propose to fix a reflector on the front part of the tracker to make the best use of diffused rays of the sun.
