Abstract :
This paper introduces a new automatic detecting and sorting instrument applied to measuring light leak degree and close clearance of automobile engine piston ring. Compared with traditional designs, this instrument has two unique characteristics. One is the design of the three-station structure which improves the detection efficiency vastly. The other is, due to the small size and the high precision requirement of automobile engine piston ring, charge-coupled device (CCD) is used to circle to scan and collect light leak images. The method based on CCD improves the light leak detection accuracy significantly, and the measuring results have good repeatability.
