Abstract :
A presentation was made using live video captured during the mission to reboost INTELSAT VI F-3, which was stranded in low Earth orbit from March 14, 1990 to May 14, 1992. The presentation encompassed the critical phases of the mission: using the space transportation system (shuttle) to bring a new rocket motor to the stranded satellite, firing the motor which placed the satellite in an elliptical transfer orbit, and taking the steps needed to circularize the orbit at geosynchronous altitude. The one hour presentation focused on the uniqueness of this effort, its many hurdles, which were ultimately overcome, and the lessons learned for future application
