Abstract :
In this paper, the stabilities of the series type active power filter and the whole power system are analyzed respectively. The factors that affect the filter performance of the conventional series active power filter (SAPF) and the series hybrid active power filter (SHAPF) are studied in detail. Based on these, a new leading compensating control strategy for series type active power circuit is presented, which can enhance the stability of the whole power system, improve the filter´s performance and decrease the power rating of the active part. Experiment results of a 10 kVA prototype demonstrate and confirm its validity.
