Abstract
Double Stator Switched Reluctance Machine (DSSRM) is a novel switched reluctance machine with unique magnetic structure and very high power/torque density. In this paper, an analytical design method based on power expression is presented. General rules for selection of critical parameters is also included. Design of a 100kW, three phase DSSRM is presented as a case study following proposed design procedure. Performace of the machine has been analyzed using finite element method as well. The results validate the effectiveness of the design method.
